Calm comes from the even spacing and repeated cube forms, while the raised surface keeps the white ground from feeling flat. The piece uses a relief method, with small block-like elements set in a measured grid across the support. Their edges catch light softly, and slight shadows under each form make the structure legible from a distance, while the title Change of Heart points to the two red squares that break the black and white order. The palette stays restrained with matte white, black, and a small amount of deep red. That limited color keeps the eye moving by contrast instead of by clutter. The subject is geometric abstraction built from repetition, interruption, and shallow depth. It doesn't depict a scene or figure, yet the offset color notes create a quiet pulse inside the arrangement. So it suits spaces that benefit from order and negative space, especially an office, hallway, or pared-back living room where the square grid can sit cleanly against a plain wall. The strongest fact is the centered matrix of raised cubes, punctuated by just two red blocks among black and white ones.
