About the artwork

A quiet mood settles over this image because the forms seem to float in pale space and the colors stay light on the eye. Soft yellow, blush pink, lilac, mint green, and muted olive spread across the sheet with small pockets of brown and black near the base. The palette is airy for most of the surface, but those darker touches at the lower edge give the scene some weight and keep it from dissolving completely. And the title Seeds of Serenity fits what the eye sees in these powdery hues and translucent stains. Placement is loose and vertical, with clusters rising from the bottom and drifting across the center into open paper. A circular form sits near the upper right, while denser groups of pods and blossoms gather lower left and lower right, so the image stays balanced without a single fixed center. The subject reads as botanical, though not in a strict specimen style, because seed heads, flowers, stems, and bulb-like forms blend into one another and shift between plant structure and fantasy. Some petals are crisp enough to name as blossoms, while others blur into rounded cells and soft-edged disks that feel half grown, half imagined. The handling looks like watercolor, with diluted washes, feathered edges, and fine drawn marks laid over the color. Details sit lightly on the surface, and the paper grain would remain visible in raking light.
