About the artwork

Soft tonal shifts inside each petal do much of the work here, because the artist has pulled pale cream, peach, coral, and pink through the orange with fine directional strokes that read almost like the grain of silk. The palette sets warm tulip heads against a saturated blue ground, while the leaves move through green, mint, and yellow green so the color contrast stays crisp without turning harsh. Most of the blooms sit high and wide across the picture plane, and one tulip on the right pushes outward in profile, which keeps the arrangement from locking into a neat bouquet shape. Tulips | Handmade Floral Painting is fully occupied by the flowers and leaves, with very little empty area beyond the blue backdrop. So the subject lands as floral and direct, with opened petals, curved stems, and long leaves taking over nearly the whole surface. The technique looks blended more than thick, but the brush marks still show in the petal interiors and along leaf edges, where the strokes taper and overlap to soften transitions that might otherwise feel flat. It needs enough wall around it for the cropped blooms to breathe, and it will sit better on an accent or statement wall than in a tight corner.
